Microsoft Announces Azure Cloud OS Platform at PDC

On Monday at Microsoft’s PDC, Microsoft announced a new cloud OS named “Azure”. Ray Ozzie, Microsoft Corp.’s chief software architect announced this cloud based operating system which has been rumored for weeks after Steve Ballmer referenced it during a press conference. It mostly is aimed at developers with it featuring server based hosting, SQL and .NET services, Live services, and Microsoft SharePoint Services and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Services. It should be interesting to see how Microsoft succeeds in this business which is a battlefield with Amazon and others already in this space.
