The tech news is a buzz with Apple’s announcement on January 27th, for an alleged tablet. Listening and reading news regarding the upcoming product release is almost too much as experts try to figure out what it should be and what it shouldn’t be. A 10″ LCD is rumored to be the size with perhaps a new iPhone 4.0 SDK that will be announced that same day. Will a new iPhone also be announced with an OLED screen and a 64GB storage capacity? It’ll be an interesting next 10 days until Apple lights up the technology blogs and sites with it’s new product. What are your opinions on it?
Late last night, Rock Band for the iPhone and iPod touch was released on the iTunes music store. It costs $9.99 and contains 20 songs for your enjoyment. Are you playing it yet? Let us know what you think about it.

It’s been a crazy week for technology. The latest phone from T-Mobile featuring the Android platform is getting a ton of publicity and it looks like phones have reached early reviewers such as Engadget, Gizmodo, and others. It’s generally getting positive reviews and seems to be a positive plus for the mobile platforms and gadgets. According to various reports, up to 1.5mm phones have been presold with them hitting the T-Mobile markets this week. We’ll see how the Android platform works and sells.
The big computer news last week was a series of laptop refreshes by Apple. Steve Jobs held the latest press preview last Tuesday and announced new Macbooks, Macbook Pro units, a speedier Macbook Air, and a new Apple Cinema Display. The Macbook features a lower price point at $999 and two other models while the Macbook Pro features more memory, larger hard drives, and lower prices. Both units feature a huge update in the manufacturing process that evolves from a single block of aluminum which the units are carved from. The newer Macbook and Pro units also feature the glossy screens, so you matte fans will have to just adjust to the new screens. We got a chance to see these units at the Newport Beach Apple store and they appear slicker and lighter. The 17″ Macbook Pro’s and updated Macbook Air units will be released in the next few months featuring the new design on the Macbook Pro and a larger 120GB hard drive on the Air in addition to a faster processor.
A new photo has been circulating on all the gadget blogs today that surfaced on a Chinese Forum regarding the new Macbook or Macbook Pro’s. It shows a one piece laptop, i.e. brick that has been rumored around for the past few weeks. It’s kind of an odd looking unit at first glance but we’ll see. The rumor mill has the new Macbook’s being released on October 14th. No Apple event has been scheduled as of late but will probably be announced via a press statement and update to the Apple.com site. Enjoy!

Apple rolled out the latest Mac OS X Update today with 10.5.5. It was a sizeable download ranging from 100MB to up to 400MB on older machines. A number of fixes and updates were included in the update as well as the traditional bug fixes. We installed in on some test machines and found it worked, no crashes, and actually speeded up the operating system. Now only if it included Copy & Paste for the iPhone..
Yesterday brought us a ton of Apple news regarding iTunes, iPod’s, Geniuses, and new earphones. But was it more hype than substance?
The new iTunes 8 was released and while interesting, didn’t really unveil that much in new features. Ok, visualizations are nice, but the main addition was a feature called genius, where it samples your music selection and gives you advice on new music. We tried it, and while it works, isn’t perfect…
The new iPod Nano and Touch units were also unveiled and while thinner and lighter, just offered a few new features and lower prices.
Did it rock as the event title stated? It was a mellow list of updates and releases in our opinion. What’d you think? Leave it in the commments…
Several blogs including gizmodo and engadget have shown the picture of what claims to be the latest iPod nano that’ll be released on September 9th, during Apple’s media event. It appears to be a longer, thinner nano with a large video screen. Check it out and see for yourselves… Enjoy
