Blackberry is constantly updating their lineup of phones and most recently updated their Bold line of phones with the Blackberry Bold 9700. If you’ve ever used the Bold line, the 9000 was the most recent of the line. It was a little larger than the current phone but proved it could handle anything thrown at it and had a strong battery life as well. The 9700 contains updated software, a smaller device factor, and proves that smaller things do come in better packages. No longer do you have the trackball but now have a trackpad which makes navigating the interface so much better. The 9700 also contains a longer battery life than most Blackberry units and has lasted us well through the day with multiple options open at the same time. The email interface remains the same as does the browser, but an upcoming browser update is in the words according to those in the know.
Overall, we’d highly recommend the newest addition in the Blackberry lineup as they’ve kicked it up a notch, to quote the celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse. Sturdy, productive, and a professionals dream equal a great product. Grab it from AT&T today for $199 with a 2 year contract.
It’s now official after all the leaks on Engadget and Crackberry, the new Storm 2 is officially coming. Verizon Wireless had announced the Blackberry Storm 2. It’ll be released on October 28th for $279 with a $100 Mail in Rebate. It’ll feature a new 5.0 operating system and a bunch of other enhancements to make it a huge update to current Storm users. Enjoy
It’s a big day in the Blackberry community, as RIM announced the Blackberry 9700. It’s going to be released on T-Mobile and AT&T, plus others as carrier announcements come out. For T-Mobile, it’s their first 3G Blackberry device and for AT&T, it’s a replacement of the current Bold 9000. It’ll be operating on the 5.0 operating system, feature Wi-Fi, GPS, an optical trackpad, and a 3.2 Megapixel camera. It’s looking for a dropdate of November. $199 after $100 MIR on both carriers. Enjoy the press pic via Boygeniusreport that we’ve got up as well.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a review up and we apologize. We are looking for ways to popularize the site and ways to expand.
T-Mobile released the Blackberry 8900 as a successor to the 8320 Curve line and we’ve had the chance to use it for the past few months. It’s been a vast improvement over the past Blackberry phones in the lineup for T-Mobile. Although not 3G like the Blackberry Bold or others, it provides fast and quick response time. Featuring a redesign of its layout, the operating system and keys, it gives the user a new experience. The T-Mobile UMA service is available for anyone wanting to use it on a wireless phone system as well.
It’s a quick review, but a great one. If you’re on T-Mobile and are looking for a great Blackberry phone, grab the 8900. It’s a keeper.
The Blackberry Bold has been officially announced by AT&T today and will be available on their network on November 4th. It will be selling for $299 with a 2 year contract required with no mention of the off network price. This is one of the hottest and most exciting Blackberry phones to hit the market and now you won’t have to goto Ebay or Canada to get one. If you’re a Crackberry fan, it’s a good day.
The long speculation about the Blackberry Storm has now gone official with Blackberry and Verizon teaming up to present the first touchscreen Blackberry unit. Full touchscreen integration, the latest 4.7 software upgrade, the support for Bluetooth Stereo, GPS, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. No Wi-fi is onboard for this unit though which is a disapointment. Overall, it looks like a very promising phone with the Blackberry architecture built-in. Photos included courtesy of RIM. Launches in November so put it on your holiday shopping list.
T-Mobile will be launching the new Blackberry Flip Phone as early as the next month and video is coming out from RIM on it. Enjoy… (No sound on the video, so no need to adjust your volume).
As the Google/T-Mobile G1 got a lot of press coverage yesterday, some other cell phone news broke in regards to the Blackberry Storm. If you remember, the Storm is the touchscreen Blackberry that will be released on Verizon Wireless by the end of the year. Engadget Mobile and CNet are reporting the device will have a 3.25-inch, 480×360 touch screen, 1GB of memory, the phone will support CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A, quad-band GSM/EDGE, and 2100MHz HSPA bands, and more. The device will also have a landscape QWERTY-esque keyboard and a suretype portrait mode keyboard. It’ll be interesting to see this when it’s released. More news to follow we’re sure…

Among smartphones in the 2Q of 2008, Symbian phones are leading the charge with Blackberry and Windows Mobile leading the top 3. Others such as Palm, Mac, Linux and others fall far below the others. The Symbian platform on which most Nokia phones are based on, are hugely popular with the latest phones such as the N95, and upcoming N96 leading the charge.
Recently it appears as RIM has announced the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. This was formerly known as the Blackberry Kickstart and launches itself as the first flip design for the Blackberry platform. According to the Press Release it features all the designs of a flip phone with the abilities of a Blackberry phone. T-Mobile will be launching it soon.
