If you use Gmail for your mobile devices including your cell phone, blackberry, or pda, be sure you check out the newest version of the Gmail client. It was released early this morning and is a great update for the mobile devices. We updated it on our Nokia E-71 and it greatly improved the speed and quality of the client. More options including adding more than one gmail account, drafts, and offline support were also added. Check it out and let us know how you like it. Link
With the recent outage of Gmail we thought it was important to take another view of Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Microsoft’s Hotmail products and see which ones we love, adore, hate, and don’t bother with anymore.
Gmail: Google’s Gmail is still in beta but with a ton of users and features, probably the most advanced of the webmail clients out there. Featuring a ton of storage, great features, ability to access from mobile devices, and other features leads it to the head of the pack. Free POP/IMAP leads this to the top. 9/10
Yahoo Mail: Yahoo’s mail client is a veteran and about a year or two ago went through a major facelift and has really stepped up to the plate on what it offers. Great functionality, ease of use, and tons of users makes it a winner. Unfortunately you need to upgrade to the Yahoo Mail Plus feature to take advantage of it’s POP/IMAP features. 8/10
Microsoft Hotmail: Hotmail is the third of the mail clients we are looking at today. Hotmail has been around since the beginning and has gone through some changes but not enough for our liking. We found a lot of spam making it through the filters and the lack of POP/IMAP features was a killer. 7/10
So which one’s for you? It’s a tough decision but we’d recommend Gmail for all. It’s still in beta, but isn’t everything in Web 2.0?

Which do you use?
