Twitter & Its Effects Online

November 25th, 2008 David Amodt No comments

If you haven’t tried out Twitter lately, it’s become a huge micro messenging tool that has slowly become a main thing in mainstream media. It was originally seen as a geek or nerd tool and has been used more and more of the public to communicate ideas, links, and ideas between each other. It was the President-Elect Barack Obama that has become the number one power user of this service with over 135,000 people following his posts on the election. Several other tech celebrities have jumped in on the top three status and others have followed. Tech popularities Kevin Rose of Digg and Revision 3 fame along with technology publisher Leo Laporte have filled these #2 and #3 spots accordingly.

It has been in the past 6 months where CNN has actually integrated Twitter into its broadcasts and now use it for instant feedback with its audience. Rick Sanchez and Don Lemmon on CNN during their shows will actively ask for comments via Twitter and will read them online.

So what’s your feedback on Twitter? Fad or Phenom? Leave it in the comments.
